Job Description:
Wyser is the international company within Gi Group in charge of searching for and selecting specialized middle and senior management.
We are looking for an "Area Manager" for one of our clients in the FMCG industry.
OBJECTIVE
Ensure tactical execution of all category-centric and cross-category marketing initiates consistent with company sales and marketing strategies, across the off trade channel in the designated area.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Makes contribution to the company’s / divsion’s strategic direction while ensuring tactical execution at the field and customer level.
  2. Responsible for constantly working towards achieving primary and secondary sales targets.
  3. Responsible for increasing the width and depth of distribution; by introducing more brands in a distributor or retail outlet, the width of the distribution increases and by introducing different variants and sizes under same brand increases the depth of the distribution. 
  4. Merchandising & Promotion, increasing visibility without over spending; working with TMM for on ground promotions in outlets for increase in sales and maintaining a favorable brand image. 
  5. Feedback on key issues and trends affecting the sales area and suggest actions.
  6. Distributor Management / Handing Corporate Executives: Managing distributor teams, controlling of their stocks, managing their credit limits, outlet coverage and providing necessary information to them is required to be done by the manager.
  7. Provide market feedback: The successful candidate needs to provide constant feedback to all departments regarding sales volume, problems faced by the distributor.
  8. Fulfill managerial responsibilities to ensure that each individual is of high standards and the company culture is actualized within the company.
  • Coaching, leading and motivating the sales team
  • Build good team work and leadership;
  • Set targets for each team member, identify development needs, delegate necessary responsibilities
REQUIREMENTS TO DO THE JOB (KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY, BEHAVIOR) : 
Education: Graduate level education, post-graduate studies in Marketing/Business Administration preferred.
Professional/Technical Knowledge:
  • Good knowledge of the “HoReCa”, “Take Home” and Wholesale channels
  • Solid understanding of the local business environment and dynamics
Job related experience : 8 years (ideally with a marketing-oriented FMCG)
Foreign Language : English (Good: Having the level to conduct the job, to understand the instructions; to negotiate on a subject, to read and write reports.)
Others:
  • Excellent analytical & organizational skills.
  • Must be able to manage, coach, develop, motivate and co-ordinate people.
  • Ability to acquire commercial sense and cross-functional understanding are essential.
  • Ability to understand market dynamics and competitive environment.
  • Interpersonal skills – able to create open and collaborative partnerships
  • Presentation skills – confidence to present formally to internal and external audiences
  • International, interstate and intrastate travel required
